Colombia Huila Reserve
The southwest area of Columbia, called Huila, is respected for producing some of the best coffees in Columbia. This extraordinary coffee is sourced from Reserve lots of prestigious heritage. Coffees are gathered from a variety of small farms throughout the region, grown under the canopy of the rainforest. The soil where the coffee plants grow is volcanic with fertile volumes of organic matter - providing the plants the best nutrition the land has to offer. The coffee plants are the famed Caturra and Columbia-Castillo varietals.
This is a Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee, which means this coffee is grown in a sustainable fashion. Farmers and their families have access to housing and healthcare and their children have access to quality schools nearby. Additionally, wildlife is protected through enforcing strict no-hunting rules on the farms. The result is a delicious coffee that helps promote sustainability and goodwill in the region.
Tasting notes are fruity, with overtones of blackberry. The medium body and acidity is rounded out by a smooth and clean finish.
