On the farm they grow 3 varietals of coffee; Ateng, Bergendal and Jember. The Ateng is an off shoot of the Catimor which is a hybrid of the Caturra and Timor. The Ateng varietal has a good body and acidity with dark red stone fruit notes. The Bergendal was developed in the Aceh Providence from the Typica Varietal. The Bergendal varietal was developed in the Aceh Providence from Typica varietals. The Bergendal Varietal brings sweetness to the coffee. The Jember Varietal originated in Ethiopia and then it made it to India. From India the Dutch took the varietal to Indonesia. The Jember varietal brings complexity to the coffee. All of these varietals work in harmony to produce an exotic, complex cup.
