Fall in love with an easy Apple Crisp recipe from Barnie's Coffee that is made the old fashioned way like Grandma used to make, and is perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.
PREP TIME: 6 minutes COOK TIME: 45 minutes
TOTAL TIME: 1 hour
INGREDIENTS:
• 6 Golden Delicious Apples, peeled and chopped
• 2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
• 1 3/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
• 1 1/2 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
• 1 cup light brown sugar
• 3/4 cup old fashioned oats
• 3/4 cup all purpose flower
• 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
• pinch of kosher salt
• 1 tablespoon Barnie's Creamy Buttery Caramel Coffee (to sprinkle on top)
INSRUCTIONS TO MAKE:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter your 8x8 baking dish (we used a disposable one to make it easier)
2. In a mixing bowl, add chopped apples, granulated sugar, 3/4 teaspoon of the cinnamon and lemon juice. Stir to combine then transfer to baking sheet.
3. In a separate mixing bowl, add your topping ingredients (brown sugar, oats, flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, salt, and diced cold butter) Use a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the oats using a slight downward twisting motion, or just use your hands like we did to make sure butter was evenly mixed.
4. Spread topping over the apples in your baking dish, and gently pat to even it out. Sprinkle the Barnie's Creamy Buttery Caramel Ground Coffee on the top for that extra flavor. Bake 40-50 minutes, until golden brown and sizzling bubbles.
5. Serve warm with a scoop of cold vanilla ice cream and you'll be in heaven!
