“2025 marks a major customer-centric milestone; all coffee roasting, packaging, and distribution is completed at Barnie’s Production & Distribution Center in Orlando. That means our products stay fresher longer, regardless of where they're purchased, whether it's at your local grocery store, wholesale, through our online store, or our historic Winter Park Café. In 2026, we project our new high-tech packing machine will produce more than 2 million K-cups alone,” stated Barnie’s CEO, Ron Pecora.
Long-time coffee roaster? That’s us. The coffee in the mall? That was us also. You see it’s a bit of a long story - one we're quite proud of and happy to tell. It started in 1980 with a worldwide traveling man named Barnie, whose passion was to discover the highest quality coffee. He fiddled and tinkered with different recipes until he arrived at a blend that is soothingly smooth and balanced - Barnie’s Blend Coffee.
Things started moving quickly – Barnie needed more beans and a larger roaster, for sure – but he kept the goal of brewing that perfect cup front and center. We released our famous Santa’s White Christmas coffee as a winter seasonal blend in 1994. The rest is history with more than 18 flavored coffees now produced. Every year, more than 11 million cups of Santa’s White Christmas Coffee are produced, and the brand becomes one of the most recognized, with loyal customers throughout the country numbering more than 150,000 online and in grocery stores. What has never changed in these past 45 years is our commitment to quality and customer service.
Our customers are what make Barnie’s Coffee unique. They are purchasing more than 40 high-quality products presented in a whimsical, fun manner. Our customers say things like "I would drive on four flat tires to get my Barnie's Coffee,” and “My dad asked my mom to marry him at Barnie’s in the mall,” and other delightful statements like that.
Barnie’s Café also has a strong local connection to our Central Florida community, with regular customers coming in daily for over 40 years. Park Avenue is a unique destination in Winter Park, and Barnie’s Coffee is a perfect fit. Customers recognize the uniqueness of Park Avenue, and our entire staff is very committed to making the customer experience fabulous.
It also helps that our local Central Florida brand has an appeal to the younger demographic and that we have a very photogenic Park Avenue café not far from Rollins College. We also opened a café at the John Hitt Library at the University of Central Florida main campus and several cafes within the Seminole County Public School District. It is reasonable to assume that if we appeal to students, they may very well stick with our brand over the years. Co-creativity with our loyal customers is what continues to keep us relevant. By remaining authentic to who we are, we hope to have many more years of success.
